“My father was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. I had found out about the Patient Advocate services through a friend who had used their services earlier in the year. I made an appointment for an initial consultation. The meeting took about two hours.

I brought along all of the medical records to date. During the consultation we discoverd that I did not have a complete set fo records. Job one was to get the records organized. I learned how to request records from a doctor’s office. I learned the importance of taking a complete set of records with me to future doctor’s visits.

As we discussed my father’s case we developed a stragegy of questions and options to further my father’s treatment.

My insurance denied my knee surgery, even though they had approved it over a year ago.
Kitty Wilde RN went to “bat” for me and was able to help me get the surgery that I really needed.
I am back to work full time and my new knee is great!

My Mom was diagnosed with a serious illness and we did not know where to turn. Patient Advocate Kitty Wilde RN help us get organized, and helped us get second opinions.
She coordinated appointments for us at Stanford and met us there to help us through the medical maze. When we returned to SLO County she helped coordinate local medical care, and followed up with Mom.
Mom would not have made it without her help.

I live 3000 miles away from my elderly 85 year old Dad. He needed medical follow up and some one to monitor his private caregivers.
Kitty Wilde RN followed up on a regular basis and made sure that he was being taken car of safely, and she followed up with caregivers, pharmacy and doctors about his care needs.
